ANN TAYLOR

STORE DESIGN | NATIONAL EXPANSION PROGRAM

Breanna played a crucial role in the national roll-out of over 300 store openings in 3 years for Ann Inc. Her responsibilities included ensuring that each store's layout followed the prototype, met the brand's design standards and project budget. This involved sketching fixture plans and storefronts and collaborating with architects to develop the final construction documents. Breanna coordinated with property managers and landlords representing Ann Inc. as well as administered permits, obtained permissions, sign-offs and/or approvals as needed for the projects to meet their development budget, schedule and goals. She worked closely with the procurement team to source all store fixtures and lighting, and managed the design schedule. Breanna's attention to detail and dedication to the project were essential in ensuring that the stores were aligned with the brand's vision and maintained a cohesive look across all locations

VIA313 PIZZERIA

DIRECTOR OF ARCHITECTURE | RE-BRANDING | STRATEGIC PARTNERS

After building the second VIA313 Pizzeria location outside of Austin while working for Embree Construction Group, Monty joined the Savory Management team to work with VIA313 and 8 other restaurant brands on their national restaurant development programs.

VIA313 Pizzeria needed a brand look that tied the original (3) Austin locations to the founders roots in Detroit. Previous attempts w/ design firms produced designs that could not be built or were over budget. Partnering with McCray and Co. Monty worked with the VIA313 team and established brand elements, new FF&E packages, materials, lighting, design features, specifications, modular layouts, schedules and space plans for their national expansion.

In addition to the interior finish upgrade, the kitchen and bars needed dialing in. The original Austin locations were second generation restaurants that VIA inherited and adapted the kitchens to make them work. Monty worked with the VIA team to translate the workable elements of the back of house into equipment packages and repeatable design layouts that better aligned with the kitchen and bar teams needs.

"Many times brand vision and development vision don't meet eye to eye, but both are valuable contributions for growth to be successful." -mw

KENDRA SCOTT

STORE DESIGN | NATIONAL EXPANSION PROGRAM | FOUNDER'S REP.

Breanna was an essential part of the Kendra Scott national expansion program, aggressively averaging 25 new store openings per year. Breanna represented Kendra's vision through design, procurement, construction and turnover to the opening team. She was responsible for each stores layout and unique storefront design. She managed architects, engineers, lighting vendors, millwork shops, storefront subcontractors and sign vendors. Breanna was responsible for coordinating the construction documents, permitting and working through construction with the general contractor answering RFI's, reviewing submittals and shop drawings as needed. Many stores required custom fixtures that she designed with vendors. Breanna worked directly with Kendra to develop custom "Shop-in-Shops" roll outs at Neiman Marcus Dallas, Bloomingdales Manhattan, Selfridges London, and created new store designs for flagship locations at Century City LA & Soho Manhattan.

STILES SWITCH BBQ

INTERIOR BRANDING & REMODEL

Stiles Switch BBQ partnered with McCray & Co to design their new location in Cedar Park, Tx. Breanna's roles included design development; management of the design team, budget and schedule; source fixtures and furniture; coordination with the contractor.

The white box space needed to relate to the nostalgic Austin location. Making new finishes and furniture look established can be a challenging balance between chic and cheesy. To make the vision come alive large timber walls and beams with blackened steel accents were added, neon signs brought authenticity, custom and repurposed lighting purposely fit the genre, layers of varying materials and textures made the new space feel lived in, posters and artwork helped complete the story. The look and feel of the grease, grime and grit you would expect to find visiting a great Texas barbeque restaurant.

LOFT

STORE DESIGN | NATIONAL EXPANSION PROGRAM

Breanna's success with Ann Taylor opened up new opportunities for her to work with their LOFT account. In the absence of a brand design representative, LOFT entrusted Breanna with the responsibility of presenting to and obtaining approval from the Ann Inc. executives. This new role allowed her to enjoy weekly travel to Manhattan and be an integral part of the growth of the LOFT program.

PINCHO

BRAND DEVELOPMENT | SPACE PLANNING | FINISH SELECTION

Another brand Monty worked with while at Savory Management was Pincho a concept born in Miami serving classic American dishes with Latin inspired flavors. The founders roots are in Miami and it was important to include nods to the Wynwood district that inspired the brand.

Monty worked with the brand leadership and Savory team to develop design features and elements that could scale with the growth of the brand. Textures of corrugated metal, wire mesh and metals with pops of color and neon light. To make the growth economics work new locations were small with high sales expectations. Balancing the seat count in the dining room with essential kitchen elements and equipment was challenging. Monty worked with the team to design and develop the kitchen and dining room layouts, furniture, fixtures and equipment.

VESPER

LUXURY URBAN CONDOMINIUM TOWER

McCray and Co. collaborated with STG Architects and Pearlstone Partners to develop Vesper, a 41-story, 200-unit condominium tower located off Rainey Street in Austin, Texas. Breanna served as the Senior Project Manager, overseeing the interior design, which included a luxury lobby and co-working space with a bar, a gym, yoga studio, outdoor courtyard, top-floor clubhouse, and pool.

In her role, Breanna worked closely with STG Architects to ensure that all interior details, finishes, and selections were accurately reflected in the construction documents. Over two years, she managed drawings, details, and redlines, and coordinated with contractors, vendors, and shop drawings for custom furniture, lighting, and millwork. Additionally, Breanna was tasked with creating a sales center that mirrored the design and ambiance of the Vesper’s kitchens, bathrooms, conference rooms, and general interior details, ensuring it aligned with the project's overall aesthetic and specifications.

LUCKY ROBOT

While working at McCray & Co Breanna was instrumental in the design ideation for the exterior remodel of Lucky Robot, a Japanese kitchen to South Congress Avenue in Austin, Tx.

After being open several years Lucky Robot was in need of a face lift. Like many projects, they had a tight budget and the added challenge was to keep the restaurant open and operational during construction. With paint, stain, strategically placed lighting and dimensional lumber the clients goals were achieved. The result was an outdoor customer experience that better aligned with the interior space and brand culture.

"Good design does not need to be expensive. Following solid design principles combined with understanding material and labor costs is a simple, but learned skill. Not something learned in a book but from experience. When clients utilize the expertise of an experienced designer it will elevate their business to the next level. Clients are often reluctant to trust in the design vision but when they do it is a beautiful collaboration." -mw
